Feeling overwhelmed? Plug into this power.

Hey you,

It’s not easy to be a person in the world these days. Conflict, grief, overwhelm and trying to find the path forward through it crowds our days. That’s on top of the everyday stuff that’s already a challenge in your individual life. All those layers of challenge make it an excellent time to plug into a source of power as often as possible. What kind of power? A power source that can fuel you, sustain you, and is inexhaustible. It may feel counterintuitive when things are tough, but plugging into JOY as a source of power for your days is one of the best choices you can make in a day.

Joy creates energy to keep moving forward. Joy helps you connect with yourself and others. Joy makes life worth living, and it creates a world worth living in. And it is entirely free, and already available in your life.

Here are a few ideas for how to find joy in your day so that it can fuel all the tiny and mighty things you are up to. Choose one that sounds good to you to try out:

·      Be on the lookout for joy; notice everything that brings you joy in a day

·      Keep a joy log for three days in a row and note everything that makes you feel joy. After the third day, look back at your list and look for patterns. These are your specific joy methods, and now you get to go do them on purpose to invite more joy into your life.

·      Do something creative – anything! – for fifteen minutes without any requirement for it to be good

·      Go for a walk and look for the beauty all around you

·      Spend time with a joyful person. If you can’t find one, head to a nearby playground and just watch the kids playing.

·      Let yourself be still for fifteen minutes, without any agenda

·      Add your own idea here

Joy is incredibly powerful. It is a gift to have, and a gift to share - someone else you encounter may need to plug into your joy for a bit in order to find their own. Don’t underestimate it, and don’t be frugal with it. Even in the darkest of times, there is an ever-flowing amount to plug into.

I’m so grateful to all of you who are bravely being yourself. That’s a major thing that brings me joy: the inspiration of others living their beautiful lives, doing the tiny and mighty things that are important to them, adding to the good in the world.

Powerful joy to you,

Christin
